Nash, also called in the local language as Vetiver grass, is a lignocellulosic species that has been reported to be tolerant of various xenobiotics. Chrysopogon zizanioides has been used as a cosmetic agents, sedatives and has antiinflammatory activity. It is available as oil which has been used as an aromatic agent in India. The plant is well known for its oil that is used in medicine and perfumery.
